Podcast - Freedom is not free

Freedom is something we all want and feel we have a right to, but freedom is not actually free.

In this episode, I discuss the context of personal freedom and how it relates to the quality of your life and health.

BTW, the audio is always better than the read version because I go off on tangents and add more value! :)

Freedom comes in many forms, but its all about personal ownership, accountability and sovereignty. There is freedom in your physical body, freedom in your beliefs, thoughts and values, freedom in your relationships and freedom in your finances.

And sadly, it’s easy to feel imprisoned in any of these areas of life – where you feel like you’ve lost control, when you feel like there are outside forces running against you…and so if you value freedom, you need to constantly be in the driver’s seat in your own life.

You see, freedom is not free.

If you want to feel truly free in your body, you need to make daily sacrifices to earn that freedom, you need to master the art of delayed gratification – you need to pay your health forward – do the hard things first, put your wellness deposits in your wellness bank, before you can reap the return on that investment.

I know it may sound a little militant but it’s the truth.  People who feel free in their health have autonomy over their body because they have earned that autonomy through consistency and confidence.   On the other hand, those who take their health and wellness for granted and invest nothing, end up paying a greater price down the road in terms of their physical and mental wellbeing.

You may think because you live in a free country, you are free.

But the truth is, you are not free unless you practice freedom.  If you don’t pursue freedom physically, mentally, financially and spiritually, you will eventually become constrained or imprisoned in some area of your life.

And this is the freedom paradigm.  When we take freedom for granted and we don’t respect it fully, it eventually constrains us.

A great example is:

How many people are feeling financially imprisoned right now because of inflation – nothing that they did personally, but because they were passive, because they weren’t proactive with protecting their purchasing power in a changing environment, because they trusted the government to take care of them, because they didn’t self-educate and see the writing on the wall…and now they are trapped financially and losing hope for the future because they can’t get ahead, they’re being left behind and their savings are becoming worth less and less;

They don’t realise that financial freedom is an illusion unless you DO something to create it within the confines of the illusionary system.

Similarly, in physical health and wellbeing.  It’s your birthright, but it’s not free for life.

To feel free in your physical body, you need to constantly invest in your health and wellness over time - which comes at a cost.  And if you don’t pay that cost, you will eventually lose your freedom and feel confined, constrained or imprisoned in your own physical body – which is a sad place to be.

If you want emotional freedom, you need to create or manifest an atmosphere in your life that gives you emotional happiness and freedom – it’s not free.  In fact, the incessant messaging from society and mainstream media these days creates an atmosphere that is constrained, channelled and not conducive to feeling emotionally charged and free.

In other words, emotional freedom cannot be attained by tuning into bad news and shock messaging all of the time, that designed to instil fear and create anxiety.

Instead, it requires you to continually pursue emotional freedom, by surrounding yourself with positive mentors, influence, uplifting messaging and tools that build your belief, self confidence, foster your passions, purpose and inspires you to tap into your personal greatness.  This is emotional freedom – which is the opposite of emotional confinement that causes us to feel depleted, helpless and uninspired.

Lastly, I want to mention spiritual freedom.  When I went to church this past Sunday, it was standing room only.  It highlighted to me, that people are ready and searching and realising the need for a spiritual awakening in a changing world.  We need to cultivate faith in and connection to a higher power…and we need to realise that when we open ourselves up to spiritual messaging, we pave the way for grace and divine intervention to show up in our lives.  This is a more intangible source of freedom, but it doesn’t make it any less important.

How we feel within ourselves spiritually and emotionally and our connection to faith, has a big impact on our ability to cultivate freedom in our lives.

But again, freedom is not free.  If you want to be truly free, pilot your life, don’t be a passenger.  Take control.  Do the things that build you into a stronger version of yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and financially.

It takes courage.  It takes belief.  And it takes pursuit – but it’s worth it.

I want for you to BE free and to FEEL free.

So whatever constraints you have in your life right now that are limiting you, holding you back from being the best version of you…. take the actions today gradually tear down these walls so that you can feel free again – for yourself, your loved ones and for the good of humanity, that is dependent on people who live, love and value FREEDOM.

I hope you got value from today’s message. Until next time, stay strong and live well!

ZT.
